Central Coast Baseball Winter Competition Champions Crowned

20 Sep by Matt Carter

The Central Coast Baseball Association’s Winter Competition came to a spectacular conclusion today, Saturday 20 September, at Baseball Park. With sunshine, great crowds, and plenty of passion on display, the grand finals in A Grade, B Grade, and C Grade delivered the perfect finish to the season.

In C Grade, minor premiers the Magpies came into the game with high hopes, but it was the Lions who roared home, claiming the championship in a spirited contest that kept supporters on the edge of their seats.

The B Grade final was no less dramatic. The Wolves showed grit and determination to overcome the Lions, who had been the standout team throughout the season. It was a gutsy win that highlighted the depth of talent across the grade.

Finally, in A Grade, all eyes were on the Lions as they sought to add a premiership to their minor premiership title. But the Dodgers had other ideas. In a gripping finale worthy of the top division, the Dodgers secured the championship and etched their names into Central Coast baseball history.

While the players provided the action, it takes a team off the field to make the season possible. A huge thank you goes to our umpires — Bruce, Michael, and PJ — for their professionalism and commitment across today’s games. Gratitude also goes to Competition Manager Hayden Ellis, whose tireless efforts keep the competition running smoothly, along with Shawn and Graeme, whose dedication to grounds and diamond preparation ensured top-class playing conditions all winter long.

Congratulations to all our champions, and well done to every player, coach, volunteer, and supporter who made this season a success. Baseball on the Central Coast is thriving — and today was proof of just how strong our community is.
